Student Facilities

The university policy is to provide students with comfortable, clean, and safe accommodation. Modelled on apartment complex, the colleges are built to cater for student needs. There are several apartment blocks for each college; with each apartment unit able to accommodate 8 students.

The apartment units are sufficiently furnished and students are responsible for their unit cleanliness.  Each apartment block is equipped with communal facilities such as a common living hall, pantry, computer room, gymnasium, public telephones, washing machine, electric kettle, iron, and privatised laundry service. Privately run cafeteria is available in each college.

The University is constantly upgrading its sport and recreational facilities to cater for the campus community leisure activities. Currently provided are football field, three tennis courts and multipurpose hall; and fields for archery, softball, basketball, sepak takraw, and netball field. Included is a sport complex which houses a gymnasium and squash courts. We also have our very own bowling alley.

To cater for the wider interest of its students, the Centre for Student Development (CDS) makes available facilities in the neighbouring Kota Samarahan and Kuching, whenever possible, for activities such as swimming and hockey.

UNIMAS seek to provide high quality health care services that are efficient and caring for its students. An outpatient clinic is available in the campus to cater for the students health and medical care. When needed, medical cases are further referred to the Kuching Polyclinic, Kota Samarahan Polyclinic, and the Sarawak General Hospital.

A standby vehicle is available to bring students for urgent medical treatment at Sarawak General Hospital, especially after office hours.

Postal services are available at UNIMAS Mini Post Office. This include an Express Post service, and payment counters for water and electricity bill. Banking facilities are available in campus through RHB Bank branch. In addition, a 24-hour ATM service provided by Bank Islam is available for the convenience of cash transaction.

UNIMAS community can enjoy Internet facilities through its campus-wide computer network. Student will be provided with an individual email account.
