The Centre for Academic Information Services (CAIS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) was established in early 1993 and began its operation in May 1993. The Centre has actively acquired library materials including online databases to build its collection.

Information Technology Development & Services

The Centre for Information Technology Development & Services (CITDS) was formed on the 1 March 2001 from the merging of two divisions namely the Management of Information System Division (MIS) and the Computer Network Services Unit of CAIS. MIS was a division charged with the planning and management of systems development for use by the various university administrators. Systems such as the Finance Management System, Human Resource System, Student Information System and the Office Automation Systems. CNS, on the other hand, was a small unit situated within CAIS that handled the computer infrastructure for the university. Among its main tasks were to oversee the network services and the management of computer hardware and software needs for the whole campus. Today, CITDS plays the key role in providing ICT services to the university such as application systems for the management, technical support, network infrastructure, ICT security and creating general awareness on issues affecting ICT among the staff and students of the university.

CALM is one of the centres that deals directly with the teaching-learning function in UNIMAS. We provide a variety of programmes and services to staff and students to enhance the quality of both conventional and online teaching-learning experience.CALM is one of the strategic foci of the university is to achieve excellence in education and training. The Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia (CALM) supports this strategic focus by playing an active role to promote and cultivate excellence and innovation in university teaching through technological integration and continuous professional development opportunities.

Academic Development and Management Division

ADMD, formerly known as the Development and Management Curriculum was established on January 1, 2014. The purpose of the ADMD is to coordinate the planning and development of academic programs by faculty and center so relevant, dynamic and up to date in line with current scientific developments and the needs of stakeholders. In addition to managing the implementation of quality improvement practices by faculty and academic program that runs the center in a planned and effective, ADMD also ensure lifelong learning systematically implemented to support existing programs. The units under ADMD is Curriculum and Accreditation Management Unit (CAMU) and Lifelong Learning Unit (LLLU). Two of these units play an important role in ADMD to ensure the quality of academic programs and learning always guaranteed in line with current needs.

Strategic Planning and Quality Management

Strategic Planning and Quality Management Centre or its acronym SQC was established on 1st October 2013 with the main objective of improving the overall quality of UNIMAS. Since 1st August 2008, it was formerly known as the Quality Assurance Division. The main functions of SQC cover the activities related to Strategic Planning and Implementing, Benchmarking and Standardizing, Enhancing and Strengthening and Leveraging on ICT. SQC serve as the Secretariate for the Steering Committee called Jawatankuasa Strategi dan Kualiti UNIMAS (JSKU).

Pejabat Hal Ehwal Pelajar & Alumni ( PHEPA) ditubuhkan pada bulan Oktober 2002 dengan diterajui oleh seorang Timbalan Naib Canselor. Bermula dari penubuhan Pusat Pemajuan Pelajar (PPP) dalam tahun 1993, kini PHEPA adalah merupakan sebuah entiti yang bertanggungjawab terhadap pelanggan utamanya di dalam menyediakan pelbagai khidmat dan kemudahan asas kepada pelajar ke arah mencapai kecemerlangan akademik. Di dalam penstrukturan PHEPA, ia diberi mandat untuk menjadikan suasana hidup di kampus kondusif dan mencapai visi dan misi Universiti. Fungsi dan tanggungjawabnya kian menjadi begitu signifikan telah mendesak PHEPA mengembangkan sayapnya demi menyumbang kepada kejayaan dan kecemerlangan akademik pelajarnya, justeru menjulang kegemilangan Universiti.

The main function of UNIMAS Publisher Sales and Marketing Unit is to promote and market the university academic books and make sure complete and effective market penetration will take place once a manuscript has completely been transformed into a book. So far, UNIMAS Publisher has published more than hundred titles on a wide range of categories such as Professional Reference Books, Public Reference Books, University Text Books, Working Paper Series, Proceedings and Borneo Series. Our end customers are are usually students, academic professional and general public. Besides emphasising on direct marketing, the vast majority of our publications sales are through wholesaler and library suppliers locally and internationally. As we wish our publications to steadily move global, we strive to give our attention to our customers and loyal distributors. In order to offer a better service to our customers and parallel to the fast development in online marketing strategy, UNIMAS Publisher Sales and Marketing Unit is now working out on online books sale.

Bursary

Pejabat Bendahari mula beroperasi pada Tahun 1993 di Rumah Setia, Jalan Resevoir, Kuching serentak dengan penubuhan Universiti. Pada Tahun 1994, pejabat telah berpindah ke kampus Timur dan pada tahun 2006 setelah siap pembinaan Bangunan CAUH telah berpindah ke bangunan Canselori Aras 1 yang terletak di Kampus Barat.

Development

Bahagian Pembangunan dan Pengurusan Aset (BPPA) telah ditubuhkan selaras dengan penubuhan UNIMAS pada tahun 1992. Matlamat penubuhannya adalah untuk membangunkan dan mengurus aset Universiti. Pada tahun 2002, BPPA telah dipecahkan kepada dua (2) buah Pusat Tanggungjawab (PTj) yang berasingan untuk memberi fokus kepada operasi masing-masing di mana Bahagian Pembangunan (BP) memberi fokus kepada pembangunan Kampus Tetap manakala Bahagian Pengurusan Aset (BPA) pula memberi fokus kepada pengurusan aset Universiti. Pada 16 Oktober 2012, BP dan BPA telah digabungkan semula dan skop pengoperasiannya telah diperkembangkan. Beberapa buah Unit baru telah diwujudkan untuk memberi perincian kepada skop tugas masing-masing. Setelah melalui beberapa peringkat evolusi di dalam pentadbirannya, pada 2 Januari 2014, BPPA telah dinaiktaraf sebagai Pejabat Pembangunan melibatkan pelarasan penstrukturan dan skop tugas Bahagian dan Unit.

Internal Audit

Office of Internal Audit was officially established in May 2000 and approved by the Board of Directors on 27 February 2001. On its existence, it was led by an Internal Auditor (W41), assisted by an Assistant Information Technology Officer (F29) and an Administrative Assistant (Clerical/Operation) (N17). It was located in the East Campus adjacent to the UNIMAS clinic.

UNIMAS Healthcare Centre or better known as UNIMAS Clinic located at Level LG, Student Affairs & Alumni Buliding which next to the student bus stop. UNIMAS Clinic provide medical services and primary healthcare for all citizens of UNIMAS. UNIMAS Clinic managed by UD54 Head of Medical Officer. UNIMAS Clinic also provide transport to send and pick-up student to General Hospital, Polyclinics, and Health Center either by appointment or emergencies.
