About Course

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences currently offers a full-time Master in Nursing Education degree programme by coursework. This programme offers a broad curriculum which focuses on solid theoretical core on evidence-based nursing science, as well as background knowledge and skills in teaching and learning which are required in nursing education. The Master in Nursing Education is ideal for practicing registered nurses, nursing educators and graduates with primary degrees in nursing who wish to focus on a career in nursing education.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Malaysian Applicants:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Nursing with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and above from a recognised university; or
  • A Bachelor Degree in Nursing with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted subject to the faculty's rigorous internal assessment process; or
  • A Bachelor Degree in Nursing with CGPA less than 2.50, with a minimum of 5 years working experience may be considered Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board and possess current annual practicing license

International Applicants:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Nursing from a recognised university and meets any other conditions stipulated by UNIMAS Senate;• Minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL equivalent;
  • Proof of financial ability (i.e. letter of guarantee / sponsorship / most recent financial statement from bank) to pursue studies and live in Malaysia for the duration of study;
  • Has an international passport with at least two years' validity and fulfills all immigration requirements;
  • Has relevant nursing working experience;
  • Must obtain temporary practicing certificate for clinical posting.

Health Status

  • Candidates must be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner recognised by the University
  • Candidates must not have any physical or impaired senses that hinder nursing dexterity.

 

FEES AND FUNDING


The full fee for this programme is RM15,500.00 per course for Malaysian student and RM26,392 per course for International student. Students supported by the government, employers or other sponsors should bring letters from their sponsors addressed to UNIMAS confirming that the fee will be paid directly.
