WHAT WE OFFER

Master of Science in Food Safety Management

The programme offering is in line with the country's needs towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). The Master of Science in Food Safety Management programme incorporates the use of modern equipment and technology, the latest microbiological techniques and molecular DNA that are often used in the process of diagnosing and identifying food safety during food processing and production.

By equipping graduates with skills in advanced food safety techniques, the programme aims to improve food quality and safety, contributing to both SDG2 Zero Hunger and SDG4 Quality Education (United Nations Sustainable Goals). The programme supports Sarawak's economic transformation plan (Sarawak's Post-COVID, Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030) by enhancing the productivity and food safety standards of the industry, boosting both domestic consumption and export opportunities.

This programme aligns with the National Food Security Policy Action Plan, a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Health and National Food Safety and Nutrition Council (MKMPK), focusing on food safety and quality. The uniqueness of this programme is the learning that involves a combination of faculty lecturers and industry experts from the food manufacturing sector, agricultural sector and livestock together with graduates. The programme is based on a trimester system; October, February and June in an academic year.
