Revitalising Bidayuh Cultural Heritage Through Community–University Collaboration
The cultural landscapes of Borneo are shaped by centuries of interwoven histories, identities, and indigenous knowledge systems. Yet, despite their richness, meaningful opportunities for direct engagement with local cultures remain limited for many students and members of the public. UNIMED Strengthens Community Awareness on Filariasis Through Outreach Programme in Kampung Bako
KUCHING, 7 December 2025 — The UNIMAS Medical Society (UNIMED), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), successfully held a community engagement event called “Kesedaran Filariasis: Lindungi Keluarga, Lindungi Kampung” (Filariasis Awareness: Protect Your Family, Protect Your Village) at Kampung Bako Lot, Kuching. PERTEKMA Strengthens Borneo Ties Through Transformative Cross-Border Leadership Program in Sabah
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah — Persatuan Teknologi Maklumat (PERTEKMA) of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has successfully completed a high-impact mobility initiative, “Kolaborasi Strategik PERTEKMA: Melangkau Sempadan Ilmu dan Komuniti,” held from 24–28 November 2025.
The five-day program brought together 22 student leaders and two lecturers on a transformative journey to foster leadership, mentorship, and community engagement.
Led by Program Director Will Pan Chen Sheng, the initiative was designed to expose students to fresh perspectives in organizational culture, social responsibility, and sustainable development—closely aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education and Partnerships for the Goals.
